For those who would like to experience a taste of Mexico without the travel south of the Border then a short trip to the south side of Lawton should be on the list. Julio’s Mexican Restaurant on S. Lee has just what every tourist would expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant including homemade chips, great salsa, fluffy sopapilla, and Mexican fruit drinks you can buy for the road. Many of the cooks don’t speak English but if you want something special the waitresses can get the message across.

Not only is the food truely Mexican but the restaurant provides crowded parking, Mexican folk art, colorful streamers and the great eye assaulting colors expected of any spot in Mexico. The picture to the right shows the inside of the restaurant in orange hues however, it has recently received a new paint job in lime greens that are close to florescent.

It is definitely worth the short trip to the south side of Lawton and if you decide you like the food they even have delivery now provided thru www.2eatN.com.
